- Overcranking
- HDA process based on the film camera technique of recording frames faster than the anticipated playback rate to create “slow-motion”. This process provides unique control of motion images in the camera where motion-blur and other techniques can be incorporated in the process. Panasonic has developed an electronic recording system capable of over\/undercrank recording using a process that produces results very much like the film technique. This Panasonic system is known as “VariCam.” Sony has utilized a system where interlaced frames can be interpolated to create progressive frames, creating a look of overcranking.
